Wife Shoots Husband In Self Defense

On August 12, 2022 a Jessup, PA woman arrived home where she and her husband got into an argument. During the argument the wife attempted to de-escalate but the husband slammed the woman to the ground and then repeatedly banged her head on the floor of their home multiple times. As she was being shaken on the floor the woman, fearing for her life, took out her conceal carry weapon and shot her husband twice in the leg.

The husband admitted to police that he threw his wife down to the ground and she had bruises on her head and ribs from the altercation. Thankfully the woman had a CCW permit and her gun on her at the time, otherwise she may have received far worse injuries.

The husband was booked in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug 22, 2022.

This is a very unfortunate story. No woman should ever fear her husband at any time. No person should ever have to have to draw a handgun and shoot the person to whom you have vowed to share the rest of your life. It’s one thing to shoot a complete stranger that attacks you in your own home, but it is something else completely to have to shoot a loved one.
