2021 FBI Homicide Report Zion Patriot, November 9, 2022October 16, 2023 Source: https://crime-data-explorer.app.cloud.gov/pages/explorer/crime/shr The 2021 FBI Homicide report is available, but there is a major issue, the number of agencies reporting homicide to the FBI is down significantly from 2020 with 11,794 of 18,806 (62.7%) of law enforcement agencies reporting. In 2020 the number was 15,878 of 18,625 (85%) agencies reporting. The number of homicides shows a steep decrease from 2020 but that decrease is due to the missing data. In 2020 there were 17,815 reported homicides but in 2021 the number reported was only 14,677. What is interesting to note is that in 2019 there were 14,548 reported homicides, so if we compare 2019 with 2021 we are just barely up. Of course, 2020 was an interesting year with the pandemic, lock downs and all of the riots that took place. It is possible that we did see a reduction from 2020, but since not all agencies reported, we will never know. With that out of the way, here are the reported numbers: WeaponTotalPercentHandguns6,01241%Firearms, type not stated4,74032%Other weapons or weapons not stated1,0597%Knives or cutting instruments1,0357%Personal weapons (hands/fists/feet/etc.)4613%Rifles4473%Other guns2772%Blunt objects (clubs/hammers/etc.)2432%Shotgun1521%Narcotics117>1%Fire73>1%Asphyxiation55>1%Total14,677 Once again we see “Personal Weapons (hands/fists/feet/etc)” beating ALL rifles (not just so called “Assault Rifles”. Yet we will continue to see the political left push for their assault rifle bans. The AR platform is one of the most popular types of guns in the US, with millions owned. Although, in the last year or so Democrats are moving to include semi-automatic pistols under their latest ban attempts. Statistics
