Trump Survives Assassination Attempt

In a day that will go down in history like 9/11, The Space Shuttle Columbia Accident and the Assassination attempt on President Reagan, Former President Trump has survived an assassination attempt on his life.

While speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a 20-year old gunman, armed with an AR style rifle took aim at the former president, hitting his right ear and piercing it near the top. Unfortunately, one attendee was killed and another was injured.

Former President Trump was immediately surrounded by his Secret Service detail forming a shield around him to protect him from additional shots. Once Secret Service confirmed the shooter was down they rushed President Trump to the hospital where he was checked out and later released the same day.

Information about the shooter is still forthcoming, but what we know so far is that the shooter was 20-years old and attempted to shoot the President with an AR style rifle. What is disconcerting is that he was able to get to within around ~160 yards of the former president on the rooftop of a neighboring industrial building. That building should have been cleared by Secret service long before the rally was even started.

In his statement following the attempt, former Vice President Biden refused to call it an attempted assassination, claiming he was waiting for more details. Mainstream media referred to the attempted assassination as “an incident” and “a shooting near the presidents rally”. This is disgusting and these media outlets and the former Vice President should be ashamed that they cannot call this what is was.

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary “The verb “assassinate” refers to murdering a usually prominent person by sudden or secret attack, often for political or religious reasons. It involves deliberate killing, either openly or covertly, with specific motives.” Unless the shooter was on the roof to do some bird hunting and somehow mistook President Trump and the huge crowd surrounding him for a duck or a goose, it is pretty clear that this was an attempt to assassinate President Trump.

As President Trump was being whisked away, he held out a defiant fist, letting the crowd know that this will not stop him and that he was ok. The crowd began chanting “USA… USA… USA…” In the AP photo captured as he was being taken to his vehicle, with the blood still fresh from his injury to his ear, the American flag hanging behind him and secret service agents trying to get him away, he held up his fist again, signaling his desire to keep the fight going. This photo will certainly also go down in history.

Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased and to the injured attendee. The Democrats have been stirring the pot with a lot of dangerous rhetoric, which was likely the motive behind this attempt. Unfortunately, many of President Trump’s opponents are not calling this out for the vile attempt that it was, but instead mourning that the shooter missed or celebrating that the attempt was even made.

Our country is heading for a dangerous time. If (when) President Trumps wins in November, expect to see riots that will make the “Summer of Love” (2020 Riots) look like the “Mostly peaceful protests” the media tried to claim they were.

As the old saying goes, Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Pray for our Country, and especially pray for our enemies to have their hearts softened and their minds opened. God was definitely watching out for Trump – please pray for him to continue to do so.
