Democrats are the The Best Gun Salespeople

I find it funny that Democrats are always pushing for guns to be banned and or highly regulated, but at the same time tend to be the best sales people for the gun industry as a whole. Every time a democrat proposes gun restrictions, sales go up. Assault Weapons Ban on the table? We see a surge in AR-15 purchases. “High Capacity” magazine ban? Here comes a 30-round magazine (standard capacity) sales jump.

But it is not just from proposed legislation to restrict gun ownership that drives gun sales. It is also weak on crime policies that are pushing many people to purchase their first gun. People who never dreamed they would own a gun now feel compelled to buy one to protect themselves from the criminals that are released after they are caught (or never even booked into jail in the first place).

The Democrats think that if we are nice to the criminals they will stop criminaling. However we see the exact opposite effect. Criminals are emboldened by the soft of crime policies. Look at San Francisco – Major retail stores are closing locations all over because of high theft. Stores are losing thousands of dollars each and every day due to retail theft.

While some of these thefts may be genuine people in need (which still does not justify theft in the first place) the vast majority are drug addicts working alone or with organized retail crime to steal and sell the goods for cash so they can get their next hit.

If Democrats really wanted to solve the gun problem they would put in place tough of crime policies that punished law breakers severely. That would make them think twice about committing crimes and the trickle down effect of that would be fewer people feeling like they need to arm themselves for protection.

If they stopped trying to ban guns it would help reduce the demand as well. I know many people who purchased a certain gun “before it is banned” that probably would have never bought the gun in the first place. But when the government says you can’t have something there is an inner rebel in all of us that says, “Oh, yeah? watch me!”.

The republicans are not much better lately. They seem to have a “go along to get along” mentality. It’s almost like the democrats are the mean girls and the republicans just want to be part of their group.

We need leaders that will take a strong stance against crime and an even stronger stance to support and protect the constitution they swore an oath to follow.
