Taking Away MY Guns Won’t Make YOU Safer Zion Patriot, October 26, 2023February 27, 2024 I am a responsible, law-abiding gun owner. My guns have never been nor will they ever be used to kill or injure an innocent person. My guns are used mostly for target practice and for self defense or hunting should the need arise. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. Guns are used between 500,000 and 3,000,000 times per year for self defense*. You rarely or never hear about the stories where a gun saved a person’s life from a deranged person. Yet it happens every.single.day. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. There are over 400,000,000 guns in the United States**. There are over 24,000,000 so-called “assault rifles” (AR pattern rifles) in America. The vast majority of these guns have never been used to take an innocent life. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. The police do not have a duty to “protect and serve”***. Their duty is to uphold the law. Even if it was their duty, they are not with you 24-7 to protect you. If you are in an emergency, the police are minutes away. By the time they arrive it is usually to investigate a crime that has already occurred. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. Taking away my right to keep and bear arms does nothing to stop a criminal from breaking the law. It is illegal to kill a person. It is illegal to assault a person. Making it illegal to own a gun won’t stop them any more than the laws they are already breaking. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. We have the right to keep and bear arms. It is enshrined in our Constitution. The government does not have the authority to take our guns from us. Our government does not have the authority to say what arms we can and cannot keep and bear. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. The US Constitution does not give me the right to keep and bear arms. The US Constitution tells the government they can’t prevent me from keeping and bearing arms. Being a free people, it is our birthright to keep and bear arms for our protection from all threats, foreign or domestic. Taking away MY guns won’t make YOU safer, doing so only makes ME and MY FAMILY less safe. You don’t have to like my guns. You don’t have to want to own guns yourself. That is what makes America great. You are free to choose how you want to live your life. By that same measure, I am free to choose how I want to live mine. I choose to keep and bear arms for my protection. And possibly yours. Come to think of it… Taking away my guns won’t make you safer, doing so only makes YOU, me and my family less safe.
