Illegal Aliens Have 2A Rights?

Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman, a judge in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division, ruled on March 8, 2024 that illegal immigrants have the right to keep and bear arms under the second amendment.

The Judge, an Obama appointee, cited her decision based on the recent Bruen ruling by the supreme court. What is interesting to me is that the same political party that wants to disarm our citizens are willing to give our rights to people who broke the law to come to this country.

If you look at the questions on the form 4473 that you must complete in order to purchase a gun from a licensed FFL dealer, there are a few questions with regards to citizenship:

• 21e – Are you a fugitive from justice?
• 21l – Are you an alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States?

In the case of an illegal immigrant, yes, they are a fugitive from justice and yes, they are in the United States unlawfully. These two questions alone should have disqualified the individual from even purchasing a gun in the first place.

Clearly, this individual did not purchase his gun from a licensed FFL dealer, and likely purchased the gun on the black market. According to Illinois state law, in a private sale the purchaser must possess a FOIC card and before you are allowed to transfer the firearm to the buyer, you must first contact the Department of State Police with the FOIC card number to check if the sale or transfer is legal. If the gun was purchased via a private sale, then are the State Police complicit with transferring a gun illegally under Illinois state law?

We know that democrats are pushing hard to give illegal immigrants the right to vote, and with this decision, this might even be a Trojan Horse to that end. If this ruling can be used to extend the second amendment to illegals, what is to stop them from applying all rights for US citizens?
