New Speaker of the House

Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana has been elected Speaker of the House in a 220 to 209 vote that followed party lines as expected.

Speaker Johnson has a pretty strong history of 2A protection during his tenure as a congressman and seems to be well liked among his (Republican) peers. Prior to being elected as Speaker he has put forth legislation for national conceal carry reciprocity, legislation to protect second amendment rights and voted against gun control bills and expanded background checks. Additionally, he has an A- rating with Gun Owners of America (GOA).

Hopefully we have a Speaker on our side of the battle to protect the Second Amendment.
