Speeding Vehicle Runs Red Light – Kills 6 Zion Patriot, August 15, 2022August 15, 2022 A 37-year old woman was speeding (possibly over 100mph in a 35mph zone) in her Mercedes-Benz in Los Angeles on August 4, 2022, when she ran a red light, hit several other vehicles and killed 6 people and seriously injured several more. Among the killed was a young family that were traveling to a prenatal visit with their doctor for their six month checkup. The pregnant mother, her 11-month old son, and her boyfriend were all killed along with 2 other women in other vehicles. This of course is a tragedy, but what does this have to do with the Second Amendment? Absolutely no one has called to ban cars built by Mercedes-Benz. Had the driver been using a gun instead of a 2-ton vehicle to kill those six people we would have been hearing non-stop about how we need to ban guns. Politicians would have been all over the news saying we need to push the senate to take up H.R.1808 and pass it as soon as possible. But since this was a car, everyone is blaming the driver – not the vehicle, as they should. It is not the vehicle’s fault. No one is suggesting that victims and their families should sue Mercedes-Benz for this accident. Why do we allow our media this pass? We need to fight back when people, politicians and media act together to blame the object rather than the person who is truly responsible for the heinous act. We need to remind them that guns are only lethal when used by a person. No one ever questions the vehicle in cases like this one, but those same people are the first to blame the gun, forgetting that it was an evil person who picked up, loaded, aimed and fired the bullet that kills another person. Guns are not capable of loading themselves, aiming themselves or firing themselves. Blame the person responsible, not the object or the millions and millions of responsible gun owners when a gun is used to do evil things. Gun Control
