Threat To Our Democracy

Every time you turn on the news you are likely to hear how certain people are a “threat to our democracy”. This used to drive me crazy, as the United states is not a “Democracy”. We are a constitutional Republic. Benjamin Franklin is attributed with saying, “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.”

Our founding fathers were wise to not establish our country as a democracy. With every election a democrat loses in the electoral college, where the candidate would have won if we were a pure democracy, those politicians call for dismantling the electoral college.

However, as I was watching yet another political leader claim that “so-and-so is a threat to our democracy” I had an epiphany. You have to listen very carefully to what they are saying, “a threat to OUR democracy”. I used to think this was them referring to the US, but in reality it is their plan to make the US into a pure democracy. Once that is done then it becomes easier for them to push for the next likely step of socialism which then opens the door to communism.

We need to be those well armed lambs contesting the vote. If we give up our constitutional republic in favor of pure democracy, our politicians can focus on the largest major metropolitan population centers regions of our country such as LA, San Francisco, New York and so forth, thereby being able to completely ignore middle America or as it is commonly called “Flyover country”. You see, these people absolutely hate us. When Hillary coined the phrase “Basket of deplorables” she meant that fully. That is how they see us.

This is why we need our arms – to help keep our leaders in check. As long as we are well armed, they are limited in what they can do. That was the entire point of the second amendment.
