Tyranny in the US

One reason for civilian gun ownership in the US is to protect us from Tyranny. Many gun control advocates say that the US Government will never be tyrannical. However, from 2020 to 2022 during the Corona Virus pandemic our government did enact tyrannical rule. What do you call it when the government says you can’t run your business? You can’t go to the beach? You can’t go to church? You must get a certain vaccine in order to participate in work. You can’t go out to dine (while those same leaders go out to dine). The list goes on.

Of course many will say that these rules were for public health concerns. But the reality is Tyrants never enact rules by telling the people they are doing this to be tyrannical. No, it is always framed as “for the good of the people”. The problem with giving up rights to our government is when you try to get them back. It is impossible without fighting for them.

This is why one of the first steps tyrannical leaders work to remove guns from the citizens. Without guns, it severely limits the people’s ability to fight their government.

As for those who say that our government will never be a tyranny? Often, these are the same people that say if a certain person is elected we will be under tyrannical rule. So which is it? either we will never be under tyrannical rule, or there is always the possibility of tyrannical rule. Just because the current leader may not be a tyrant, doesn’t mean their successor won’t be. (see Venezuela for example).
